EJ Brixx and Blue Rey, of the Nashville hip-hop group Pham Nation Underground Railroad, deliver their first collaboration project entitled "Grade, A". It serves as holdover music in anticipation for their debut album, scheduled for release in late 2014. The duo aims to cover a wide spectrum of colors and sounds, by incorporating a base of jazz influence in their rhythms and rhymes, in order to capture the attention of, and engage the minds of listeners. This project is the introduction of Pham Nation Underground Railroad's signature style, which they call ADHD, or "80HD."
Grade, A Is a very unique Hip Hop group, their style is presented in a down tempo, relaxed feel. The quality is superb with well thought out rhymes. The beats have an old style sound to them yet are very unique in how they written. Their first track on Grade, A titled A sleep in Advisory. This track features a very skillful production by canismajor. The chorus and hook is very chill while the verses are up tempo and unique with skillful rhymes. Grade, A also features a few skit’s or filler songs which are actually pretty funny. It’s not the usual bogus fillers you here from mainstream artists. An example is Mr.Dee’z Project (skit) features a school setting, which is very relatable for anyone who’s been in class. Roll one has a sick chorus hook basically about smoking who can’t relate to rolling a fresh blunt? The beat is chill and runs smoothly with each verse. Daily races is one of my favorites off Grade, A it has a very nice piano beat. Opening up with a sample and the beat sampling Mad World by Gary Jules. The beat is fast with very articulate verses. With a backing for the chorus and hook that is phenomenal masked behind a sample from a news source. Overall the album is really well done and will turn some heads. Their debut album will be something very special!
