Mayhem Psywar EP review

I caught word that Mayhem will be releasing a EP titled Psywar! There's really not that much press as far as the release (I had know idea it was being released.) I did a simple search for black metal releases 2014 and saw Mayhem on the list and knew I had to check it out! They have a single out titled Psywar which is different from their past stuff. The quality is superior and the vocals are different from their past releases. All in all I'm in love with the track so, I went ahead and pre-ordered the vinyl. It's scheduled to release April 25th! I think this album is a stand point for their career and how far they have come as musicians. If you wish to buy it, the album can be found here http://e-shop.season-of-mist.com/en/catalog/list/1307?search_type=band on vinyl and tape. All the vinyl is nearly gone so if your into vinyl you better jump it before their sold out! ALL the color vinyl is gone! The song psywar presents great guitar work while evolving into a new mold of black metal. The quality is great and seems very well put together from the single that I listened to. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of this album and spinning this one on my record player!

Atomship crash of 47' review

Atomship released their first and only album back in spring of 2004. They got very little "mainstream" publicity. If any at all, however from touring they did gather a small loyal fan base. The crash of 47' is a great album with tracks like Time for people, Whitfield, plastic people, and friends. It's 11 songs of awesomeness. As I would like to say. The band is similar to older Breaking Benjamin, TOOL, and Chevelle. The drummer chad Kent plays very complex beats very much similar to TOOL's drummer (for comparing sake) which is a damn good thing. Joey Culver's vocals are done well and the guitars are pretty damn good to. Time for people was featured on the Punisher sound track. Featuring my favorite lyric; "I found no people for killing time so I found time for killing people." the album is a mile stone for them and it's sad that nothing ever came of the band. They have reformed under the band title watership down. They also kicked Joey out and have Derek Parode back in, whom left do to anxiety issues before recording (the crash of 47) Every song was written By Derek though. if you enjoy hard rock and nu metal then this album is for you!

Gorgoroth Incipit Satan review

Gorgoroth is one of the most pronounced black metal bands to walk the earth from Norway, Very powerful with only time testing member Infernus. Incpit Satan was first released in the year 2000 and was reissued on 2006. The album has excellent quality (especeially for black metal) The song incipit satan is probably my favorite track off the entire album. The song is very catchy with very raw screams which is expected from a Black metal powerhouse like Gorgoroth. The song has elicit lyrics keeping on the subject of Satan and chaos. Other tracks like Unchain my heart and a world to wind speak volumes and are stand alone's on this album. The riff's are very clean yet very gut wrenching screams from the pit of the stomach. you can feel your throat slowly tear away with these. The album is only 36 minutes, but it's an epic 36 minutes. No filler tracks will be found here, every track hits harder than the last. It's worth a listen for any black metal fan.
